Good day, everyone. It’s been a while since we’ve last updated (all the way back in August, to be precise!) and yes, we have no post for September. Why, might you ask? Well, I finally landed a job in late September. The good word couldn’t have come at a better time. The girls have been doing great. We finished Brianna’s U6 soccer that we coached and had a really great time with all the girls. It seemed like the participants enjoyed the season and were looking forward to playing again next year–our main goal with coaching. We want the girls to actually like playing and foster a learning environment where all skills and positions are taught. Haley just completed volleyball, which was a complete disaster from the coaching standpoint (we did not coach this go around due to the new jobs and our degree programs we are pursuing). Unfortunately, we should have coached and that was apparent from the first practice. We’re still kicking ourselves because of the “lost” season of skill enhancement, but we’ve learned a valuable lesson. Every single parent on our team was equally frustrated–to the point where some parents would not even stay at practice. And then you have those girls who show up ONLY for the game–very poor commitment from the parents. When we coach basketball, we’re going to tell everyone they get one practice per week to miss and if two are missed, their kid will not play in the game that weekend. It simply isn’t fair to the other kids.Liz and I are doing great on our degree programs. Liz got an A in her first masters class so she’s well on her way and doing great! I just completed enough credits to officially be a junior. It seems like a long time until the degree is completed, but steady progress is being made after a fifteen year hiatus. Each of us is projecting some form of parchment by 2012. This year, we joined some of our friends for a Halloween party with an 80′s theme. I went as a 80′s rocker, Liz and Haley as 80′s chicks, and Brianna as Dorothy with a Toto-in-a-basket (go figure). Brianna likes to do her own thing. We spent WAY too much on the costumes, but had a great time at the party and enjoyed getting dressed up for a change. We hope everyone had a great Halloween and enjoys their Thanksgiving holiday!Check out our YouTube channel.
