Haley's Volleyball Medal

Finally! Summer has started to rear it’s head! For the month of May, the family has been busy completing swimming lessons, volleyball, and the never ending search for a job.

Brianna has become quite the little fish. She has recently concluded this year’s swimming lessons and, at 5 (nearly 6) years old, she can swim the length of the pool all by herself! We couldn’t believe it. Quite the feat for our little string bean. You can witness this extraordinary event by checking it out on our YouTube channel under the video called Brianna Swimming (5-26-2010). There are some pictures this month of her rather stylish launches off the diving board at the pool in Fort Collins. Haley is a little more reserved about jumping, but enjoys it nonetheless. Soccer wrapped up as well and the tool of a coach is no longer an issue. We should have coached, but that’s what we get for not doing it. Stupid coach didn’t even show for the last game. IDIOT.

Haley wrapped up volleyball this month and we think this may be the sport she will play long term. Time will tell, of course, but she really likes it. Her team took second place in the final tournament and she got a really nice medal for it. While disappointed she didn’t get first, at least she was not one of the girls crying about it. LAME!

T-ball and softball start next month (June) and the girls are looking forward to it. It’s a challenge with two kids and I am not looking forward to the day when we have to start splitting time between kids due to games overlapping. We like watching both of them, but I guess that’s the way it goes.In any event, we like to keep the kids involved in at least one sport. They are getting plenty of exercise so far this summer also. Most evenings are spent outside with the neighborhoodlums.

I’m still playing hockey and trying to stay in shape. I’m also going to be done with my first two college courses in 15 years. They will be completed mid June and I should have an A in both. Microeconomics was very interesting, but the Computers in Business was fairly remedial. Whatever–easy A. I am registered for Macroeconomics and a Sociology course starting mid-June. I will also start taking more classes through CSU’s Global branch. I’ll start there in July with around 50 credit hours and begin taking major course for Business. I have it mapped out to complete in 1.5 to 2 years, depending on how many classes per semester I take.

Liz is still holding the family together. She went on a preliminary interview today and made a great impression! We’re hopeful one of us land something soon. Every day is an adventure–not one I wish to be on. Aside from the nightly painting of her nails (because the previous night’s painting had sheet marks, came off, were the wrong color, smelled bad, fill in your own excuse), Liz is trucking along just fine.

I almost forgot. Haley completed 4th grade and Brianna finished Kindergarten! Yea! Good job, my super smart kids!!!

We’ve also been adding more videos to our YouTube channel. You can access it from the links on our home page, or directly by browsing to the The Morgan’s YouTube Channel.

That about covers May! We hope you enjoy the pictures and drop us a line whenever you can!
