February has been an interesting month for all of us. Weather has been a little chilly with some snow, but overall, not too bad. The job situation for Ian is a little volatile right now. More to come as I know…
Haley completed volleyball and wrapped up basketball. She is also finishing out indoor soccer. Unfortunately, the soccer team is moving to a more competitive league that has games as far as Colorado Springs. We are realists and believe this team’s move to a higher league will be met with disappointment. The girls all have a great time, but when playing better teams in our CURRENT league, they get smoked. All of the girls are old enough to realize they are getting beat badly and Liz and I really don’t feel this is the best move. We’re not sure what brainwashing everyone else is absorbing, but to us, it simply isn’t the right move. Instead, we’re going to get Haley involved in another volleyball league. This last fall session was her second time playing and she showed huge improvement (through the excellent coaching her dad provided). Haley’s birthday is coming up next weekend and we have a slew of kids coming over to drive us nuts. We think it will be fun for everyone–we have a “design your own beach ball” thing, “make your own ice cream cookie” (will be a total mess, likely), and karaoke. I’m not sure on the last item, but we’ll give it a go. The kids may get a huge kick out of it…or not. Haley also had her first school dance this month!
Brianna has been doing very well in school. She shares many attributes that her papa (grandpa Larry) exhibits: creativity, drawing, talks to a stump when available, and likes crafts stores. I need to get some of the things she has drawn onto the site because they are very good for her age, we think. Brianna seems to be tracking along just fine where she is at in Kindergarten and, like her sister, really likes going to school. Brianna had her first Valentines Day at school and got a kick out of it.
